Betsy DeVos Changing the Rules On Title IX Campus Sex Misconduct Enforcement

“On campuses throughout the country, I’ve seen firsthand how colleges and universities are wrongfully implementing their own kangaroo courts to adjudicate accusations of sexual misconduct and destroying the lives of wrongfully accused male students,” Miltenberg said. “Title IX was meant…

Cultural Appropriation

Is is cultural appropriation for Audra McDonald or Kathleen Battle to sing Opera? Living Colour to play metal music? Teena Marie to sing and rap in Square Biz? Darius Rucker to sing country? Tower Of Power to play funk? Eminem to be one of the greatest rappers of all time? What about a Hasidic Jew being a reggae star?

Oh, the college left.

They will make up the dumbest things. Mansplaining, cultural appropriation, safe spaces, trigger warnings…the list goes on and on.

I recently had a long email chat with a vegan activist who is part of an organization that harasses people and businesses here in Berkeley. Their group tries to get people to stop being cruel in any way to any animal. It was a lively discussion but due to my use of the Socratic Method and ability to reason, this person eventually lashed out in anger and used the tried and true tactic of name calling when their arguments fell flat.

It happens every time I engage with people like them. Berkeley is the perfect place to see these people face to face and see how they really are utopian idealists. They don’t live in the real world.

I suggest a few things to people who think like the ultra-liberal-left; step off that college campus and live with the rest of humanity. Live a few years by yourself and pay a few bills in your own. Tell me how many safe spaces there are when you walk down a street by yourself. Womansplain to me how it isn’t incredibly sexist and demeaning when you demand men need to be taught how NOT to rape. Where are your trigger warnings before the 6 o’clock local news?

Oh, and I better not catch you rapping at all if you are white…unless you can rap like Eminem or Teena Marie.

I haven’t watched MTV’s annual Video Music Awards since Bill Clinton was president. I was wearing a plastic choker and Alanis Morissette won for “Ironic.” But I wish I had tuned in this Sunday night. The award show was a veritable orgy — not of sex, but of cultural appropriation.

Group-On!

I finally got the chance to spend time with my kids on Monday.

It’s been a month since I last saw them. Unfortunately, I still have two more months to go after today before I see them again.

I’ve been out of town for the past two months and I have really missed spending my days with them.

It’s not easy to be away from your offspring for such and extended period. At least, it’s not easy for me.

14 1/2 years of being a stay at home parent forms a tight bond.

And I mean…tight. We are close.

Where there is a will (and some American Express points for airline tickets) there is a way. I flew them and my ex-wife out to CA so they could see some family out here and I could spend the day with my kids.

We had a great time in Sacramento and the three of us went bowling. It’s such a great activity and is always a good time.

I’m glad someone invented Groupon. It saved me a few dollars and we enjoyed the little time we could spend together before school starts back in New York.

I won the first game but my little man came back in-game two and took the top prize!

Why Wasn’t She Shot?

For every Antoine Dodson telling folks to “hide yo kids, hide yo wife…” and Sweet Brown saying “oh lord Jesus there a fire” on the local news somewhere down south, there are dozens of these that never get autotune remixes.

Why not make a nice country tune from this incident?

And why isn’t her car riddled with bullet holes?

Hmmmmmmmm

“Yo ass gon’ t-jail!”

“In a report published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, data from more than 26,000 people showed longer work hours and the use of pornography didn’t correlate with the decline in sexual activity. Nor did factors like gender, race, income, or level of education. Instead, trends toward helicopter parenting and a growing body of unmarried people seem to be the deciding factors.

“We’re seeing more helicopter parenting, which is zapping energy that could go toward sex and other sensual activities,” sexuality counselor Eric Marlowe Garrison, who was not involved with the survey, told CNN.

The term “helicopter parent” was coined in 1990, by child development researchers Foster Cline and Jim Fay. It refers to a parent who prefers to monitor their child’s behavior in nearly all aspects of their life, from chores to playtime to schoolwork – typically, to allay the parent’s fears of harm or failure.”

I thought trump banned Somalians? Police terrorists now?

This is a story with several twists.

The reality is that this country rarely cares about certain things unless they see it destroying the lives of white families.

Police brutality? What are you talking about? Heroin problem? It’s their fault! They need to learn “personal responsibility.”
Can’t get a job, can’t afford health coverage, gotta get on disability (welfare)…it’s your fault!!! Now, things are affecting more than the welfare queen and the black male thug.

Those same problems are affecting white men and white women. We’ll see how things change when more mistakes like this police shooting occur.

What will people say about this? Will they use the same rhetoric used with the killings of black people?

How about this:

She must have been resisting!

Let’s take a look at what happened before the video…what no video?!?

She was a thug!

She must have smoked weed in the past!

She’s not American…

Excuses..

* Justine Damond was shot dead by police after calling 911 on Saturday night
* She had reportedly been speaking to police through the driver’s side window
* Ms Damond was shot by officer sitting in the passenger seat through driver door
* Mohamed Noor has been named as the officer who shot 40-year-old Australian
* His lawyer Tom Plunkett confirmed he fired his weapon on Saturday night
* Friends say Ms Damond had spoken out against gun laws in America previously
* She moved to Minnesota to marry ‘rockstar love of her life’, Don Damond, 50

Campus Rape Policies Get a New Look as the Accused Get DeVos’s Ear

It’s time to get rid of that ridiculous Title IX nonsense that Obama implemented in 2011.

That Dear Colleague guidance that changed the goal posts and allowed colleges the ability to set up kangaroo courts to deal with alleged CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR, has to be changed. It just has to.
The slogans that came from this guidance “teach men not to rape,” “rape culture,” “1 in 4,” all stemmed from the Title IX hysteria from 2011.

If there is criminal behavior on college campuses or anywhere else, the police must be involved. Not college administrators.

Let me just say cases like Duke Lacrosse, Rolling Stone/UVA, Paul Nunsenger and the “Mattress Girl” at Columbia University and dozens of other incidents, made my blood boil.

“Betsy DeVos’s Education Department is re-evaluating the get-tough policies on campus sexual assault that were enforced by the Obama administration.”

After divorce, shared parenting is best for children’s health, development

We now have more than 50 studies of joint physical custody. Using different methods, and examining families in the United States and abroad, the results are encouraging: children who spend at least 35 percent time with each parent, rather than live with one and visit the other, have better relationships with their fathers and mothers and do better academically, socially, and psychologically. As will be described next week at the International Conference on Shared Parenting in Boston, they get better grades; are less likely to smoke, get drunk, and use drugs; and are less susceptible to anxiety, depression, and stress-related illnesses.
