NFL Star and Heinemann Trophy Winner Ricky Williams Harassed By Law Enforcement

Watch this. Just watch this and let me know if your blood doesn’t start to boil.

Their job is to “enforce the law” – better known as “arrest as many people as they can so they look good.”
You job is to say as little as possible.
Theirs is to get you to say as much as possible.
By the way, watch how they surround him like they are about to wrestle him to the ground and put him in a choke hold like Eric Garner.
And you wonder why we feel the way we do about law enforcement.

Don’t Talk To The Police!

I recently told my kids about the events from the past two weeks in Louisiana and Minnesota. After a discussion about what happened, I reminded them to never talk to the police.

I tell them over and over again to NEVER EVER talk to the police. I don’t care if you are doing something legal or not. NEVERRRRRRR!!!!! NEVER talk to the police if they ask you any questions. I have several close friends who are cops, former cops and probably future cops and I will tell my kids and anyone reading this that due to the legacy of slavery in this country and the never ending bias against black men especially, talking to the police or even getting into any encounter with any police officer of any color is probably going to do you no good.

It doesn’t matter if the cop is black, brown, white or purple. It is a fact that we have given a certain group of people the legal authority to kill then ask questions about it later…and most likely NOT be held accountable. It is just the reality we live in today.

I tell my kids on a regular basis that the way they will be treated is different than the way their white mother will be treated-simply because they look more like me than her.

The way that my WHITE girlfriend will be treated is different than the way I’ll be treated when we drive together and are stopped by the police. The way police have treated black and brown skinned people for well over a hundred years is well documented and may never change. The only thing I feel we can do is not to interact with them and do whatever is necessary to be as well connected politically in order to gain the wealth and status needed to get out of jail quickly.

The problem is that we might never get to jail if we get shot like Philando Castile.

Sexual Assault – Double Standard

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYwC7j08a2Y

It looks like sexual assault to me!

Two women are accused of sexually abusing a man inside a gas station, and police say they have made one arrest. Surveillance video captured the women “twerking” and touching the man– and that victim is now speaking out to FOX 5.

The man, who has asked not to be identified, said he was getting gas at the Shell station in the 1700 block of New York Avenue NE on October 7 around 4 p.m. when he was attacked. The video shows the women coming over to the man, and then they are seen twerking and groping him. The man said the suspects also flashed him while he pumped gas and followed him as he called police.

“You don’t know who these people are. I was afraid of my safety. Like I said, I thought they were either transvestites, or women, or men dressed like women,” the victim said.

According to the victim, he asked the cashier for help, and the man behind the counter told him, “What do you want me to do?”

The victim said there were men outside of the gas station who he believed to be pimps, and he was concerned about what would happen to him if he acted in self-defense.

“And then, when I had the idea that they were women, I thought they would have a pimp who was pushing them to be prostitutes who could have been outside with one of the gentlemen that were out there watching and witnessing, could have been with guns to come and shoot me. I did not want to be shot that day,” the victim said.

The victim said he is a teacher and does not want to show his face because of the backlash he has received on social media for filing a complaint.

Police arrested 22-year-old Ayanna Marie Knight of Las Vegas on Tuesday. She is facing a third-degree sex abuse charge. The other suspect has not been caught.

Think Before You Act Out

If I go to the subway and start spray painting ads on the subway, is it legal?

Oops!

She must have forgotten this little law:

After my bones dry up from playing drums, I hope my mind is still sharp. I would love to re-train the minds of college aged kids. Being a college professor sounds like fun.

So many kids think there is some utopian world ready to be entered when they graduate. Man oh man are they in for a rude awakening. The “real world” my parents told me about? It’s wonderful yet, complex and full of grey area. Use that grey matter in your skill to effectively navigate through it and you’ll be ok.

I am starting with my two little ones – my kids. I want to try and keep their minds open to think through every scenario, make sure their minds stay open to new information, and to think before they act. Acting out of emotion kinda sucks. I’ve been there and learned my lessons. Fortunately, I stop before I act nowadays. It might have done her well to do the same. I’m sure central booking was not fun. But hey, knock yourself out if you want to deal with the police. I have better ways to deal with societal issues than deal with NY City’s finest.
